Merhaba from Datca Turkey,

The harbor lies close north of Kuru Burnu, and opposite Uzunca Ada (Ata Island ). The little town of Datca is really pretty. There is a small beach which is not typical of the coast line here. Datca is near the site of old Knidos, the ancient capital of the peninsula. There are only a few ruins of the ancient city to the north of the present village. We walked into town and ate chicken donners or kabobs at a local street vendor, delicious!!! The town of Datca is a small vacation village. There is a nice little beach in the larger of the two harbors with nice shops and restaurants. I tried sticky ice cream which has orchid root in it to give it a stick and somewhat slimy consistency... Not my favorite, but I tried it. We pulled anchor this morning and are headed to Gumusluk. It's about a 60 mile cruise today and the weather is perfect, with a slight breeze. We have passed several sailboats with their sails up, and a unique looking ferry boat, nothing like those we are used to in Puget Sound.

We would like to also share that we received a phone call from a mountain top in Scotland on Sunday from Katelyn and Callum that they are planning a wedding soon. We couldn't be happier!!! We also spoke with Ryan this morning and he informed us that all is going wonderfully at the golf course. We are so appreciative that he is handling the responsibility of the golf course so that we can enjoy our travels!!!
