We managed to arrive in Long Beach last night after a five day non stop cruise down the Oregon, California coast line. We were all looking forward to a good nights sleep... Well, as we settled in for the night and laid our heads down on our pillows we could hear a snapping, crackling and popping noise. We check out the boat top to bottom and couldn't figure out where the noise was coming from... It sounded as if a critter was gnawing on something in the hull, or electrical wires were crackling... Some of us decided there was no immediate danger and settled back in to bed. While others laid there listening to the unknown noises. It wasn't until today, after talking to a fellow Nordhavn owner that what we were listening to was snapping shrimp. Who knew! They're very loud for such little guys. I am going to sleep better tonight!!!
