Maquinna / Hot Spring Cove

This anchorage is a must see!!! A trail made of planks,  cross-sections of trees and half logs makes up the one mile hike to the hot springs, located at sharp point. The hike is beautiful, with huge trees along the way. Many of the boards have engravings with previous visitors names. I wish I had brought my carving tools along to carve in Anna Mae, maybe next time. I do plan to go back. A natural flow of steaming hot water bubbles out of the ground a short distance from the rocky shoreline. We hiked in around 7pm after all the day trips from Tofino had left and enjoyed the springs all to ourselves. There is a beautiful waterfall that runs down to several pools. It was amazing!
