We stayed at Rescue Bay last night, a pretty little bay off of Mathieson Channel, close to Klemtu. The sky was blue and clear. Three other boats joined us in the bay by nightfall. When we woke up the fog was thick we could barely see. I voted to wait until the fog lifted, I was in the minority and lost the vote. We fired up the radar and I got to practice using it... Fog is my most dreaded boating experience. I HATE IT!!! Once we got under way the fog lifted marginally, and I felt better. The radar worked flawlessly, it's just unsettling for me to see nothing but white out the window and rely only on instruments. We are headed to Bella bell today to stay the night at Shear Water.
On our way to Bella bella we ran into some humpbacks!!! We followed them for about 3 miles and they were very friendly. I first noticed them when they both breached in the distance. We got within yards of them and numerous photos. What a thrill, they are so fun to watch!!!
Having a great time on the water.
