Izmir

Today we visited the City of Izmir, the ancient city of Smyrna. It was established on the shore of one of the most beautiful gulfs of the Aegean Sea dating back 8500 years. Today the population is nearly 4 million and the third largest city in Turkey. We took a bus tour and saw the ancient city of Angora, we walked Konak Pier, and the many winding alleyways of the old bazaar. It is a huge maze of restaurants, clothing shops, etc. The city is enormous and spreads out for miles.
