Side Turkey

We toured the town of Side Turkey, about 40 miles west of Alanya. We had such a wonderful time walking through the ruins. Everything was hands on, you could walk through the ruins and touch everything. They're still excavating the site, so it was interesting to see the process. Portions of this site date back to the 6th century BC! Throughout time The town of Side has served as a slave market, and a pirate hangout. Originally it was the largest metropolis with an organized form of government in this area.
