San Blas Mexico

As we approached San Blas the captains chose to anchor in the estuary ( Estera el Pozo ) close to the marina. The bar crossing was shallow and narrow. We slowly worked our way up the estuary and anchored in 6 feet of water…

We took a leisurely stroll into town and found a tasty seafood restaurant. The Plaza was lined with shops, restaurants, and many people enjoying the beautiful weather.

The old church of San Blas sits at the edge of the plaza. This old Church inspired Henry Wadsworth Longfellow to write the poem, “The Bells of San Blas”.

San Blas is a sleepy little fishing town. We have enjoyed the beautiful beaches, jungle tours, the fresh seafood is wonderful.
