Costa Rica

We have been in the warm Costa Rican waters for over a week now.

The anchorage of Bahia de Coco was our first stop while we arranged all of our paperwork to enter the country. The government of Costa Rica truly enjoys their paperwork... The have a piece of paper and stamp for everything.

We originally planned to spend just a month in Costa Rica, but as you know boating plans can change on a daily basis. So, in order to stay past our original month we need to purchase a two year visa to extend our stay, which involves more paperwork and $$$$$....... Always a learning experience.

We have monkey's in the trees to entertain us just a short walk from our boat. The birds come in a wide variety of colors, shapes and sizes. The slithering reptiles continue to make me want to turn inside out when they sneak up on me, which happens more often than I would like.

We have gotten just a small sample of Costa Rica so far, anxious to see what the rest of the country has to offer. There are so many wonderful places we plan to visit along the way. We will keep you posted.
